Catering

Eight people upward, priced per head. Each shop has its own limits.

Same board, three kitchens

Twelve things, the same prices, in all three shops. What is not the same is what is behind the counter: Harbour Road has two ovens and a prep kitchen, Mill Street has one deck oven, and Kettle Lane has one oven and no kitchen at all.

That is invisible if you are buying a coffee and decisive if you are feeding sixty people, so the catering planner asks which shop first and works out the rest from there.

Compare the three

Invisible for a coffee. Decisive for sixty people.

Marisa, and six years on Mill Street

Baking was never a hobby here. I grew up with flour on the counter and someone telling me the dough was ready when it felt ready, which is not a measurement but turned out to be true.

Mill Street was the whole business for four years. The other two came later, and slowly, because a second shop is not the first one again.

The longer version

A second shop is not the first one again.

Catering, planned in three steps

Choose a shop and what you need, tell us when, review and send. The planner prices as you go from published rates and will not let you ask a shop for something its kitchen cannot make.

You get an estimate before you send anything. An estimate is not a price you owe; it becomes an enquiry when you send it, and an order only once that shop has quoted and you have accepted.

It will not let you ask for what a kitchen cannot make.
